How Do Birthdays Work in My Time at Sandrock?
When you start new game in My Time at Sandrock, you’ll create your character and choose your birthday. In-game years are broken down into four 28-day periods, each denoting a season. As such, your birthday will fall on a specific day within a given season. For example, my character’s birthday is Autumn 13. The exact date doesn’t make too much of a difference, so choosing your birthday is purely personal. Just bear in mind that your birthday can’t be changed once it’s chosen.
Birthdays are treated as special events within the community of Sandrock, so you should put in the time to get to know NPCs and learnt heir birthdays. Parties are often thrown in favor of the character being celebrated. Of course, gift-giving is also a staple. Your Birthday
On your big day, you’ll receive gifts from the townsfolk you’ve grown close with. Although, this depends entirely on your relationship levels with various NPCs. The closer you become, the better your odds of getting gifts from your favorite characters.
Aside from gifts, parties are also a big deal in Sandrock. You’ll have the option to throw yourself a party as your birthday approaches, but there are a couple of requirements that must be met. First, you’ll need a banquet table. This must be placed to have guests over. In the same vein, you’ll also need to send out invitations, with 10 as the upper limit. This must be done no less than 24 hours prior to your birthday, or else you’ll have to go without a party.
Townsfolk Birthdays
NPC birthdays function similarly to your own in My Time at Sandrock, though they primarily involve giving gifts. You’re not required to hand over presents for every character, but doing so helps you to become closer. Because of this, it’s a great idea to purchase gifts for your favorite characters, especially those you’re hoping to romance.
Every romance option has a specific set of likes and interests, so your relationship will benefit more from giving gifts that the character in question is sure to love.
